Rockin With The, Rockin With The Best!

Hello my lil chickadees!
Well, what can I say about our show this past Saturday in San Francisco, besides we kiiiiiiiiilled it!
The Kidd and I had an awesome time, made new friends, got wild with old ones, rocked the mic and the dance floor (you know how I do!), and basically had an amazing night. I'm STILL amped off it and it was four days ago, sheesh! I can't wait to get back on stage!
We were out there celebrating Kidd Linus' birthday (Happy Birthday Kidd!) and also debuting a brand new track (so new that I seriously just finished the lyrics for it last week and we did the mix down for it the day of the show, yowzers!), called "Is This Thing On?" We were initially having some problems trying to get the track finished in time, so, to be honest, I was a lil worried. But those worries flew the coop the minute Kidd Linus dropped the track and everybody started going off to it! It was awesome! There's nothing like that feeling, looking out and seeing everybody rockin out to your music and your lyrics, it's crazy...and it gets you instantaniously high and that high is addictive! Once you experience it you want more and more and more of it!
We're hoping to officially release the track in March 2010. We gotta clean up some rough spots, I need to re-record the vocals and then the Kidd has to put the final mastering touches on it, but definitely be looking out for it in MARCH 2010!! (That's right, I put that shit in CAPS and bold, so you can't say you didn't see it!) :)
Our good friend, Eurydice (the genius behind James and the Giant Cupcake) was also in house tempting and delighting with tasty little morsels of heaven...also known as mini red velvet and chocoalte peppermint cupcakes. I'm smiling just thinking about them, so delicious! They were especially good at 4am when I was snuggled up in my hotel bed watching Gremlins, oh hells yes! :)
As you can tell, it was a good night from beginning to end.
Here's some pics of the night!

LovEvolution 2009!

Oh my.

What can I tell you about this year's LovEvolution, besides just how very much I love San Francisco!

The floats, the djs, the dancers, the partiers; it was amazing. A collision of color and music and love that took San Francisco by storm and left everyone feeling a little light headed.

My ass got out to the city at 11am and stayed out partying until 5am-yowzers! Thank god Kidd Linus and I had the foresight to book a room for the night so we didn't have to worry about trying to get home :P

I got to see the first float start down Market St., and the last dj close out the after party at the Civic Center, not to mention everything in between. Unfortunately the pics I have are only from the parade, I got worried about my ability not to lose my camera as the day wore on, it WAS a festival after all and I WAS out all day and night having more than my fair share of fun ;)

But I still managed to get some golden moments captured, hope you enjoy them and they inspire you to make it out to next year's parade!

Are you ready for Love?

Birdies!

LovEvolution (San Francisco's take on Berlin's LoveParade) goes off this Saturday, and you can bet that Kidd Linus and I are gonna be there enjoying every minute of it!

Remember when you were a little kid how much you used to loooooove a parade?? The marching bands, the horses, the clowns, the floats? Well, imagine a parade designed for music loving adults that makes you feel that same level of happiness and excitement you did as a kid. Except these floats are filled with DJs, dancers, revellers and everyone in between and THIS parade is more like a block party on wheels. And it all takes place in San Francisco along downtown Market Street? Doesn't it just sound heavenly? :)

Besides fully partaking in everything LovEvolution has to offer, we'll also be taking lots of pictures and video of the event to give you our first hand, down and dirty experience of it all!

Here's some videos of last years parade festivities and after party...

Last year's party was INSANE, but this year's gonna be even better! Anyone living in the Bay Area definitely make it out to this, and gimme a shout if you do. We can dance along the streets together :)

Photo Shoot!!

Hey there birdies,

AF just finished a photo shoot with the lovely and talented Miss Megan Solberg. This is a pic of me and Megan out and about. Didn't I tell you she was lovely? :)

We spent an entire day sweating it out in the heat down by the railroad tracks, running to get out of the way of trains and generally trying to keep our cool demeanor in the blazing heat.

It was a lot of fun tho and I think we got some really good shots out of it! We'll hopefully have the pics ready for you to savor by the next week or two.

You can expect at least one fresh new gem for your ears by the end of this month. We've been working on finessing our sound and making it focused and potent, so I hope y'all be able to keep up with us!
Just kidding, I don't think you'll REALLY have a problem keepin up...besides getting over your wonder at the amazing sounds pumping through your body, hahaha!
Sorry, I'm just excited to get on the mic and get some new stuff out there for everybody to get crazy too! :)

New York! New York!

A couple of months ago I decided, pretty spontaniously, to took trip out to New York. It was my second time ever having been. The first trip was a whirlwind New Year's Eve 72hour party trip a few years back. I remember having a great time and thats about it, hahaha!

So I was pretty excited to be able to visit again and explore and see much more of the city. The actual purpose of the trip was two fold. Fist of all I was visiting a good group of friends who live out there, and secondly I was doing promotions for Aural Fixation and Boogiebeat Records. What resulted was insanity, hilarity and one of the best damn trips I've taken so far in my life!

My sister from another mister joined me on the adventure and together we took over New York for a week.

Here's a glimpse.....

Spreading the word, one flyer at a time!

We went to this cool ass spot in the L.E.S, called Identity (I think). Despite the name it turned out to be filled with super chill folks into reggae, dancehall and hip hop. They even had breakers from Rock Steady rippin it up on the downstairs dancefloor, which was really more like a dance sauna cuz it was HOT down there! We had a hella fun tho, drank a lot and then took the party to the streets and procedded to bring East Bay ghetto to New York posh by paper baggin some 40's and sippin while we walked around. We ended that night with DELICIOUS falafel and a cab ride over to our friends house in Brooklyn where we crashed for the night.

Central Park was definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip. I fell in love. It's beatiful, diverse and engaing, just like the city it lives in.

My very talented friend Bay who is an amazing photgrapher and my equally amazing friend Casey, having an improptu photo shoot in the park :)

Our last night in the city was INSANE! We went to a graduation party for Casey who just got her Master's degree from Columbia. They had an open bar and we thought we had to empty it out or something like that. The next morning and our 8am five hour flight home was ROUGH to say the least. But I don't regret it. It was an awesome way to bid farewell to the city.

If you like dancing and I like dancing ;)

Every Friday night Kidd Linus throws down a serious dance party at Easy925.

If you're not familiar with Easy925 then please, allow me to introduce you guys.

First off, it has a dope ass group of folks that work there. From security to bartenders to DJs, everyone is hella chill and there to have a good time.

Secondly, they use fresh ingredients for their drinks. Fresh house-made strawberry juice, house-made sweet and sour mix, fresh grapefruit juice, house-made Sangria, meaning their drinks are super good! Every time I'm there I start the night by saying I'm only gonna have one drink...four to five drinks later, I'm kicking myself in the ass for my weak will but still happily sipping away.

We're there pretty much every Friday night. Kidd Linus and DJ Monkee Biz make sure to turn the spot into a dance party, which means breakin a sweat on the floor all night (except when I'm at the bar).

A normal Friday night for us there usually looks like this...

These are the two wonderboys themselves...

If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area you should drop by some Friday and say whats up and have a drink with me!

xoxo

New To The World

It's the first post of a new project.

Let's see how it goes ;)

We're meeting each other like this because we felt the need to share Aural Fixation with you, which is an Electro Pop group out of the San Francisco Bay Area. We have a single out on iTunes, look it up! It's called, "House Party!"

It's also to share our music and the music of others that we love, and all the antics we end up getting into because of our love of music.

Hopefully you'll have as much fun with it as we do.
